Enjoy a guided stay in a classic 1937 family “camp” (cottage) on Pearl Pond’s Northwoods island on Ebeemee Lake where Thoreau once tread. Team cooking, paddling, swimming, gentle walks, sunset cruise with a peek of Mount Katahdin, and nightly campfires
THE GULF HAGAS HALF-LOOP HIKE: From the Pearl Pond camp and a boat ride to the mainland, hardy adventures can experience a guided half-day hike of Gulf Hagas (“The Grand Canyon of Maine”). This is a downhill hike along a 400-foot gorge carved out by the West Branch of the Pleasant River with four waterfalls to view or swim in! Intermediate experience and good hiking boots required. Moderate hike but with a few hands and feet boulder to scramble over.
